Boston Marathon Training Weeks 1 & 2

It’s hard to believe it’s already time for marathon training, but here we go. I’m still chasing a PR and Coach and I have talked about changing up our training from Marine Corp and I can already tell that the training is different. I spent December base building and still did some speed work- averaging almost 40 miles a week. I honestly wasn’t in the mood. It was the holiday season and seriously ate whatever I wanted the entire month and wanted to be lazy to go along...

MCM Training Week 1 & 2

I’m backing up to give you the full picture of my fall marathon training. I actually had to ask Coach if we had started yet and indeed we had so I wanted to start from the beginning of it. I’m super excited to be training for Marine Corps Marathon in October, and I’m keeping my Boston goal of 3:25. I’ve really enjoyed the past few weeks of base building- it’s been an adjustment to run every day, but the easy days are super easy. It’s the getting up to beat...

Post Marathon, Next State

I’ve spent the past few weeks recovering from Boston and heading back into half marathon training. I knew my first week post marathon would be no running with easy workouts. I had 3 days of 30 minutes of workouts of my choice. I opted for elliptical, a walk with my sister and nieces and then a bike ride. Less time running also meant a little more family time so we offered to keep my niece for one of the nights. Pretty sure we spoiled her, but it was fun. The next week was still workouts...
