Boston Marathon Training Week 1 and 2

I swore I would post about marathon training since I had backed off when I was training for the half marathons this fall (and wedding and life got in the way of consistent blogging). Wedding Week

I was really appreciative that Coach gave me an easy week of runs. The week FLEW by- I worked, finished up the little details, and then entertained family and friends from out of town. Monday: PLAN- rest day ACTUAL- rest day We drove to Alabama Sunday night and went to Dauphin Island. It was great having a day on the water to chill. It was such a good way to start our week. Bayshore Marathon Week 7

I love that coach changed up the training a bit this week. It was good to get back into my work travel routine, even though packing all my food was tough. I’m almost done with the elimination phase of FODMAP! Monday: PLAN- 1 mile 10K pace, 45 minute muscle imbalance work ACTUAL- 1 mile 7:16, 45 minutes hip/glute work, private pilates I LOVE that I’m “forced” to do 45 minutes of strength training. Bayshore Marathon Week 3 & 4

Holidays, holidays, holidays. It’s been a fun, very full, 2 weeks. Training is going well- it’s been a nice slow increase in mileage and workouts- good base building. Hooray for step back weeks! My body definitely needed it, and Jess decided to just have me do all of my weekday runs at an easy pace. NYCM Week 9

My body seemed pretty tired all week from the jet lag and I was still having pain in my left glute. It seemed like a week of going through the motions and surviving on multiple cups of coffee each day. After last week’s not so great 18 miler and a very cranky left glute, I wasn’t sure what to expect for the week. Work took me to Birmingham, so several of my workouts were back in Alabama.
