Columbus Marathon Race Recap

State #27 repeat (Ohio #2) Marathon #11 I swore at the beginning of 2017 that I was only going to do one marathon. Boston. That was it. Then, I would focus the back half of the year on finishing my 50 state goal. But after a race that left me feeling defeated and wanting more, the marathon blues had me eager to toe the 26.2 line one more time this year. So, after debating between Twin Cities, Chicago, the Hartford Marathon, Detroit and Columbus, I landed on the Columbus Marathon. Molly had...

New Haven Road Race 1/2 Marathon

State #47 Half Marathon #57 Connecticut was one of those states that I struggled to fit into my schedule. Hartford had actually always been my goal race for the state, but it didn’t work out so when I found a race in New Haven, I decided that’s what I would do. Pre-Race Rich and I flew into Bradley Airport (Hartford) on Saturday morning. We decided to drive to Mystic (an hour from the airport) to check out the town before driving an hour to New Haven. We, of course, had to stop at Mystic...

Boston Marathon Training- April and Marathon GOALS!

April was the beginning of the taper, which kinda stinks because I was finally getting some speed back (with a little speed type work in my plan) and feeling like my old self. Week of April 1 Saturday- 13.1 MGP miles @ 7:51 avg pace around the ATL Sunday- 4 endurance miles @ 8:17 avg pace TOTAL MILES FOR THE WEEK- 17.1 (not...

Liberty Hospital 1/2 Marathon Race Recap

State 42 Half 52 Missouri has been a state that has driven me crazy- mainly because back in 2014 I missed the opportunity to run a double when I did the Garmin ½ in Kansas City. All of the races in St.Louis are in the fall, and I initially didn’t want to go back to Kansas City. I was a little nervous to do an inaugural race, but it fit in with my schedule so I just decided to suck it up (seeing as I’ve been to MO several times now). The race also aligned with Corey’s schedule and she...

Pensacola Double Bridge Run 15K Race Recap

I signed up for this race a while ago and made sure it was okay with Coach to do a 15K in the middle of my training cycle. Becca and Kerri were doing the race so we planned to head to the race together. Pensacola is about an hour from Mobile, so (typically) an easy trip. What I didn’t have planned when I signed up was my work schedule for the week before. I found out after signing up that due to my national sales meeting, I wouldn’t get home until 10pm. Sigh. Pre-Race I had a CRAZY...
