The Best Thank You EVER!

I had debated on how to write the big review/sponsor post of the #NUUNHTC experience.  I will slowly review some of the new to me products that I loved but for now, if you haven’t seen it already, check out this big THANK YOU! Tiffany is seriously the master of all things video/picture/creative (She and SarahOUL could battle it out).  She may have made the coolest Thank you gift I have ever seen.  Thanks, Tiffany for doing this-it had me all teary eyed when I watched it. Aspaeris Pivot...

A little bit of SPARKLE (giveaway)

When XLMIC said I was the only “natural sparkler” in our van for Hood to Coast, I didn’t realize how much that statement was true. Until I thought back on my races this year. It is very true.  I. LOVE. TO. SPARKLE. I know some people don’t love the sparkle skirt.  Or, they are scared of it. I will tell you now, I am not a girly-girl.  But there is something about putting on that skirt that just makes you feel good. Things to know about the Sparkle Skirt: 1. It makes you have fun.  I...

August Recap

Miles Planned/Actual: 80/83 I really only planned for the first 2 weeks of the month. Plus the race and 3 planned running days (NYC, Alma & Kim, Pre-HTC group run). I technically didn’t even have a plan from the 13th on. I knew it would be minimal. I do think I would’ve hit 100 miles without this dumb ankle sprain. Boo. Cross Training Planned/Actual: 7/7. everything I planned, I did. Again, stopped planning the week of vacation. Then another vacation. Then injury. I really do/did love...

To Sum it Up #NUUNHTC

I have avoided this post because I really don’t want the whole NUUN Hood to Coast experience to be over.  But, I guess it’s time.  I figured I’d do my regular highs and lows and my overall thoughts.  And of course, share the bling! How our team finished: I”m competitive, but this really didn’t seem to matter. The bling: I didn’t run this race for the race bling. But, I will say, I expected more.  It’s kinda small and the lanyard is plain. Very Rock n Roll like. Still cool to...

I was never a cheerleader: THE accident

I will start by saying, I was never going to tell the truth about what happened.  I was embarrassed.  PISSED. embarrassed.  Did I mention embarrassed??  But I’m a terrible liar.  I swore my van to secrecy, but when I made it back to the Nike tent at the finish, I couldn’t lie. And then I realized, maybe this will help someone else. I got laughed at. By more than one person.  And then Sarah OuaL said it.  “I don’t know what it was about the race, but I did it too.” If...

#NUUNHTC Day 2

I know yall love my creative titles. So, you can read about the pre-race festivities here and day 1 here. Erin took off on her second leg and we headed to the exchange so that I could get ready.  And then it hit me.  My food baby of van food (think chobani yogurt, kind bars, brownies, trail mix) was not settling well. It was a mad dash to the port-o-potties. Let me tell you one thing about these: they are nice. If there is such a thing.  There is always toilet paper and hand sanitizer...

#NUUNHTC Day 1

I debated on how to break up the race into blog posts and decided I would do it day by day.  So, here is what happened Pre-Hood to Coast. A quick note for those unfamiliar with relay races: You have a team of 12 people. 2 vans with 6 people in each (plus a driver if you are lucky).  The first van heads to the start and each runner in that van runs their first leg.  The second van goes to the big exchange.  Runner 6 of van 1 hands off to runner 1 of van 2.  And you repeat two more...
