Rock and Roll Baby!!

I can’t believe it’s already time for another race! In a few hours I leave for a weekend in Chicago–to run my 3rd Rock and Roll race of the year (and to see one of my besties!). My goal is to be a “Rock Star” and I have 3 races left for the year in this series. This race with be a 1/2 marathon. I don’t feel nearly as prepared as I have been for my other races. I guess it feels funny to only “train” for 1 month. I’m used to having 3...

All I Want to do is Shop!

I have started to notice a trend in my shopping habits. I mean, I know I love to shop–for pretty much anything and everything. But lately I can’t stop buying running/workout clothes. I figure I spend so much time in them that I “deserve” to look cute while sweating. I also think I “deserve” a new outfit for each big race. My latest fav is Lululemon. They carry great clothes that use a fabric that won’t hold smell. I found that my Nike shirts were...

26.2 but who’s counting

OK. For real this time. I have to get better at this blogging thing. That is my goal. I will learn moreabout how to make my site better and I will post more….but, on to my first 26.2!! I can’t believe it is all over (well, not really-still training for other races) and that I did it. I ran with Team In Training and recently wrote a blog post for the GA Chapter. You can visit...

I’ve been Slacking….

So, I feel like a total slacker but life has been CRAZY the past few weeks. My best friend Amanda’s wedding, Dad’s surprise 60th, Team in Training fundraiser, work, and of course–running 🙂 This will be a short entry and I will hopefully make up for it in the next few weeks. So, to sum up my running over the past few weeks… I’m learning to run without music. I never thought it would be possible but I am learning to like it. I have gotten used to running with my...

My Newest Purchase(s)

So, I will admit I am quite the shopper. I will find an excuse to buy whatever I want. When I first got into running I was shocked at the price of some of the heartrate monitors on the market. At the time, I went with a pretty basic Timex heartrate monitor, calorie counter and stopwatch. Now fast foward one year later… I have moved to the land of garmins. Never did I imagine wanting or needing one of these things…but it is amazing!! I just bought it on Wednesday from my favorite...

First Post–My History with Running

Well, welcome to my blog!! I decided I would start a blog to keep up with my training and adventures in running. Lets see, where to begin…perhaps with a background of what all I have done and what is yet to come… In January 2009 I decided it was time for a new year and a new me. I needed a challenge. I ran for excerise (no more than 3-4 miles) for several years and never thought I would be a “runner” (I have pretty bad asthma and struggled to get it under control in my...
