Back to RNR Virginia Beach

Wow. That is all I can say. No. Really. The town was terrible. I made my one-trip-for-life to Virginia Beach I can guarantee that. I mean, growing up in Alabama you are very spoiled by beautiful white beaches, local seafood joints, beautiful homes and condos. NOT motels. To my surprise that is all VB has to offer. MOTELS. Every type of Holiday Inn, Marriot, and Ramada that you can imagine. I did not see one condo complex or actual home on the water the entire time I was there. And...

No. Seriously. I will be better.

Obviously me and the blogging just don’t get along. I swear each time I am going to be better about updating but that is obviously not the truth. Maybe if it was pretty? Who knows. But I will continue trying. The past month seemed to go by very quickly. Perhaps its because I seem to have quite an obsession lately with gyms. Literally. I am now a member of 3 different gyms. Not on purpose really, it just kinda happened. The last post I mentioned getting the membership to Urban...

In addition to the running…

After running the race in Chicago last weekend I realized that the heat is going to make it tough for me to PR this time of year. And I am okay with that. I can’t always beat my previous race times even though I would LOVE to every race. I have decided to expand my workout options–of course continue running but add in some other activities and not focus too much on speed work. Besides, it will kinda give my body a break. I have been lifting weights at my gym, Adrenaline Fitness...

Rock and Roll Again…

Well, Chicago was a blast. Another 13.1 complete. I am 1 race closer to being a Rock Star with the Rock and Roll Series. Overall it was a good race, not my best, but that’s okay. I underestimated the heat in Chicago. I thought it was so much cooler (okay-maybe 1o degrees cooler than the Atl-but it still felt SO much better) and I didn’t hydrate properly. The course was relatively flat, the bands were fun, and they had ice soaked sponges to cool off with around mile...

Rock and Roll Baby!!

I can’t believe it’s already time for another race! In a few hours I leave for a weekend in Chicago–to run my 3rd Rock and Roll race of the year (and to see one of my besties!). My goal is to be a “Rock Star” and I have 3 races left for the year in this series. This race with be a 1/2 marathon. I don’t feel nearly as prepared as I have been for my other races. I guess it feels funny to only “train” for 1 month. I’m used to having 3...

All I Want to do is Shop!

I have started to notice a trend in my shopping habits. I mean, I know I love to shop–for pretty much anything and everything. But lately I can’t stop buying running/workout clothes. I figure I spend so much time in them that I “deserve” to look cute while sweating. I also think I “deserve” a new outfit for each big race. My latest fav is Lululemon. They carry great clothes that use a fabric that won’t hold smell. I found that my Nike shirts were...

26.2 but who’s counting

OK. For real this time. I have to get better at this blogging thing. That is my goal. I will learn moreabout how to make my site better and I will post more….but, on to my first 26.2!! I finished my FIRST MARATHON 2 weeks ago!! I ran the Rock and Roll Seattle Full Marathon on June 26. I can’t believe it is all over (well, not really-still training for other races) and that I did it. I ran with Team In Training and recently wrote a blog post for the GA Chapter. You can visit...
