Wedding Week

I was really appreciative that Coach gave me an easy week of runs. The week FLEW by- I worked, finished up the little details, and then entertained family and friends from out of town.

Monday:

  • PLAN- rest day
  • ACTUAL- rest day

We drove to Alabama Sunday night and went to Dauphin Island. It was great having a day on the water to chill. It was such a good way to start our week.IMG_2231

Tuesday:

  • PLAN- 1:00 progressive run. 30 min Z2, 15 min Z3, 10 min Z4, 5 min zone 2
  • ACTUAL- 1:00 7.43 miles @ 8:05 avg pace

I wasn’t sure how well this one would go- it was SO HUMID. But, I felt strong and it felt good to get this one done. I like this workout. That afternoon, we put the out of towner boxes together.IMG_2238

Wednesday:

  • PLAN- 45 min peak run. 10 min warm up Z2, 5×30 sec max sprints, 4:30 recovery b/tw
  • ACTUAL- 5.29 miles @ 8:30 avg pace

Another workout I like- not too structured with pace, but enough to put in some effort.

Thursday:

  • PLAN- 5 mile tempo run. 1 mile endurance, 4 miles z3
  • ACTUAL- 5 miles @ 8:47 avg pace with Rich

I wasn’t really in the mood/didn’t have the energy for this one. My sleep was TERRIBLE the week of the wedding so I decided to run this one with Rich as our last run before becoming a Mr. and Mrs. IMG_2243Friday:

  • PLAN- rest day
  • ACTUAL- rest day and Brunch with the Bride and Rehearsal and Rehearsal Party

I apparently didn’t take any pictures with my phone…but luckily have these two. The rehearsal was a breeze and the party was so much fun. Rich’s cake was triathlon themed and in his favorite flavors- chocolate and peanut butter.IMG_2415IMG_2253

And, nothing made me more happy than having family and friends helping us celebrate- especially my dearest running friends who traveled so far!IMG_2254

Saturday:

  • PLAN- rest day
  • ACTUAL- rest day WEDDING DAY! IMG_2263

Sunday:

  • PLAN- rest day
  • ACTUAL- rest day…if you call the trek to Hawaii rest.

We had to leave Mobile at 5:30 to make our flight out of ATL. Needless to say, neither of us felt 100%…but we made it. And were able to say one last goodbye to Jes before heading to Hawaii.11227869_1096556123688728_8675028361338684326_n We FINALLY made it to Kauai at around 3am ATL time. We traveling for approx 21 hours. 12043193_10153615244805782_64333340101730125_n 12072631_10153615244815782_402284010679093185_n

Total Miles for the Week: 17.72 miles

Probably one of my shortest mileage weeks in a LONG time! We had such a great weekend of family, friends, and fun.

Where have you traveled that has taken you all day to get there? Was it worth it? If you have a significant other, do you work out together or alone?

  • It’s good to see you back – what a month you’ve had! Congrats again, everything was gorgeous and look picture-perfect 🙂 We’ve had several long travel days….it’s always worth it! Brian and I both run and we used to run together a lot…before the boys…I can probably count on one hand the number of times we’ve done it since the boys 🙂
