Traveling and Training

Playing catch up! The beginning of the year means the beginning of my sales travel for 2014. I actually love exploring new routes on my runs and the past few weeks have been fun! I make it a point to NOT miss my workouts when I’m on the road. Even if that means getting up earlier than usual or doing some research finding the best places to go.

I try to avoid the treadmill if I can.

Week January 13th

Monday: 3 miles (27:51) around the ‘hood. Tried to outrun the rain….and lost!

Tuesday: flywheel. IMG_5648

Wednesday: 6 mile tempo run (49:32- 8:54, 7:59, 8:06, 7:52, 7:55, 8:41)  in Birmingham at one of my favorite spots to run. If you are ever there and need a nice, safe path, park at the Target at Brookwood Mall and you will see it directly in front of the store. Runs right along a creek.

Thursday: 4 miles easy (36:14) in the Homewood area of Birmingham. SUPER cute neighborhoods. It was a cold morning, but I was entertained looking at all the houses.

Friday: rest day

Saturday: 12 miles (1:52:09) with Team in Training around the Buckhead area. Last long run before RNRNOLA. IMG_5664

Sunday: flywheel

Total miles for the week: 25

Week January 20th

Monday: 3 miles easy (26:16) around Piedmont Park and the beltline followed by private pilates.

Tuesday: flywheel

Wednesday: 6 mile tempo run  (49:04- 8:49, 8:01, 7:58, 7:52, 7:47, 8:32) in Chattanooga. They have an amazing path that runs over 13 miles along the river. Only downside is I ended up on the north end of it and not in the downtown area. It was still pretty!IMG_5676IMG_5677

Thursday: 4 mile easy run (36:23) in downtown Chattanooga. This town is so pedestestrian friendly. A great way to see the sunrise before work. The bridge below is just for pedestrians. They have a separate one for cars. IMG_5681IMG_5684

Friday: rest. 

Saturday: 8.2 mile run (1:15:35) at Big Peach through midtown/highlands/beltline. It was quite chilly…and somehow we got a bit lost from the map. The run is part of the Publix course so I was familiar with the area (and it’s not far from my house) but we ended up in a not-so-safe part of town. One quick turn and we made our way back on track.IMG_5701

After the run, I went to the photography class with my sister.

And then out for one of the boyfriends birthdays. It was me and about 18 boyfriends. I’m the luckiest girl. So thankful for these boys! IMG_5704

I guess you could say I knocked something off the bucket list…a male strip club. For other men. To say I was entertained is an understatement. And the hottest stripper? Oh, he was straight.

Sunday: Flywheel class. I was #1!

Total miles for the week: 21.2
