Week 13, Pilates, and #renuunions

Week 13 was a travel work week for me, which worked out nicely for pool running. It’s really hard for me to find a place in ATL without a gym membership with a pool.

Monday: 55 minutes of cardio (up to a level 6 on elliptical) and private pilates session. I seriously have missed this sooo much. I can’t afford to go to private sessions as often as I would like and I am going to try and find some sort of video to do until I get approval to go to the group class (I will have to modify, still moves I am not allowed to do).ย IMG_4023

Tuesday: 45 minutes pool running (more to come later) and PT exercises

Wednesday: Workout with Kelsey!!! This sweet, sweet friend from #NUUNHTC last year lives near Knoxville, TN and came into Knoxville so that we could workout and go to dinner. She was kind enough to do what I needed to do…so that meant 55 minutes of cardio and weight training.IMG_4060

We worked out at the UT gym, which reminded me how old I was…and perhaps creepy for checking out the 20 year olds that were quite nice to look at? Whatevs. I was also called ma’am by the front staff quickly bringing me back to reality. YIKES.

After a great workout we went to dinner in downtown Knoxville and caught up on life. She also surprised me with 2 of my fav’s: Tennessee whiskey and a Sparkly Soul headband. I’m so glad that Knoxville is part of my territory and I will get to see her several times a year.ย IMG_4063

Thursday: early morning 45 minutes pool running and PT exercises

Friday: after a long work week and travel, a much deserved REST DAY

Saturday: 55 minutes of cardio, PT exercises. See a pattern yet?

Sunday: privates pilates withย Corey. More on her visit soon, too!

You may have noticed I missed PT at the actually doc’s office this week. Couldn’t fit it in with work.

I have to be honest. I am tired. I am restless. I am so flipping ready to move past the same cardio workouts. The progression has been great, but I can’t wait to be able to sign up for a race and buy new running shoes. And get a running massage. AND GO RUNNING.

Other random things I miss: pigeon pose stretching and sitting indian style. I honestly think it will be close to a year before I can do either.

My weight has crept up a little and I’m sure it is a combo of not doing as much cardio as I would like, eating out more, traveling, and going out more. It’s only 3-4 pounds…so maybe it’s muscle coming back too? Or both. I’m still tracking in my lose it app. Not going to stress about it. Gotta live life and enjoy it and know it will all balance out once I’m back to “normal.”

Do you wear headbands/sweatbands when you workout? Favorite brand? How was your weekend? Do you travel for work? If so, do you eat right and exercise when you are gone?

  • Looks like you had a busy week! I would love to take a private pilates class someday. I used to go to a class at my gym, but I haven’t gone in ages.

    I wear headbands a lot when I workout. I like sparkly soul or bic bands. Or I just make my own.

    My weekend was crazy fun. Went to Missoula, MT and ran a half marathon on Sunday. I am still tired from all of the fun of girl’s weekend.

    Glad things are going well. Feeling good about life is way more important than 3-4 lbs. You seem really grounded ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I almost never travel for work. I wear headbands for dance class mostly – for some reason, my fly aways are out of control during class!

    Ran a 5k and a 10 mile training run this weekend. And visited with Jonathan (who got running shoes while he was here – woo hoo!)

  • Knoxville is so fun! You’re killing it with the exercise, it’s so impressive.

    I wear BIC Bands. I love love love them. Weekend = camping. So dirty!

    I feel ya on the same workouts over and over, although I have no right to complain since it’s only been 5 weeks for me. You are a trooper and have come so far since surgery!

  • You are so funny! I would totally be checking those 20 yr olds out. I wear headbands when I ride the bike and run. Not sure what kind though – I always pick them up at the big race expo’s (huge table w/ piles of them)!

  • so glad you were able to fit so much into your travel week- sorry I had last minute plans. I am absolutely DYING laughing about your 20 year old comments, bc it just so happens on my trip that I hooked up with one of the guys on our trip and he was 22. What’s even funnier is when I was facebook stalking him I saw that Kelsey was friends with him… small world. Nothing wrong with appreciating a young body ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • I am not partial to any particular head band, but I do love that sparkly pink!!! I am happy for you that you are getting back into a workout routine. Take your time, you will be glad you did and are only moving forward and never backward!
