First, I had an entire post written about my upcoming travels, minus a few pictures, and never posted it last week. I promise I wasn’t MIA. The week before my trip my training was stellar. For reals. I ran 31 miles total, took 2 TRX classes, 1 private pilates class and a yoga for runners class. BOOM. Solid week.
Last week, however, included cramming in 2 important work meetings, packing for NYC and Hood to Coast, dinner with a bff from college and well, life. I squeezed in a solid 9 miles and 1 trx class before on Thursday for NYC.
P and I ate, and ate, and ate some more (If you follow me on Instagram, you already know this). Not kidding. I am all for healthy eating. I really am. But, when I am on vacation, I splurge. And we did a lot here. We ate at two restaurants that included two of the best meals of my life: Gramercy Tavern and Babbo. I know this isn’t a food blog, but I felt I should share the amazingness of it all. And why I continue to run (must.burn.calories).

course 3. yes. 3 desserts. And we ate it all. Not kidding. Peanut butter, mint ice cream, and a chocolate bread pudding.
We went to Phantom of the Opera on Thursday night. My teammates arrived Friday and we all went to see Jersey Boys and had the opportunity to meet several cast members and learn more about broadway (I was in heaven). Saturday involved a walking food tour, with my team, all over Greenwich Village and the Chelsea Market. We ended the night with dinner at Butter. I figured I would spare you the many pics of more food and the broadway meeting but it was all fabulous.
I did manage a run in Central Park with P on Friday morning. It wasn’t long, but it was at least a run. I ended up sleeping in the other two mornings and I didn’t feel guilty about it. I enjoyed it. The week ended with a whopping 12 miles completed. Let’s just call that a taper for Hood to Coast.
I continued to tell myself as I ate at fabulous restaurants, shopped in NYC, went to broadway, etc. how truly lucky I really am. Not many people get the opportunities that I have been given. The trip was amazing. And 24 hours later I am back on a plane and Seattle bound for another amazing experience.
I packed all of this stuff up this afternoon and I’m hoping I’m prepared for this little relay called Hood To Coast.
I get to spend my Tuesday in Seattle running, eating, and playing with two dear blogger friends, Kim and Alma. Wednesday, I meet 35 other ladies that I have been stalking since the team announcements in the Spring (side note-I haven’t met anyone in person that is running with NUUN) and get to hang with a very fabulous hydration company.
Lucky. Blessed. Overwhelmed. Fortunate. Thankful. In Awe. Excited. Happy. My Life.
Do you splurge/cheat when you are on vacation? Favorite NYC restaurant? Tips for Hood to Coast or Seattle?

I am so excited for you- HTC is an amazing experience. I am sad I had to give up my spot this year, but hopefully next year I will injury free! I grew up close to Seaside and I love every opportunity I can to go home. Take lots of pictures!
Food is really the best. I love food. Thanks for sharing pictures of it. Also, I have seen Phantom at least three times, but would LOVE to have seen it in NYC! I meant to make time to see a show while there and didn’t… next time.
Have a fun time with K and A and all the other HTC stuff!
Have a great time at HTC!
Your adventures sound so exciting. I’ve been trying to follow along with you ladies doing HTC!
So I’m extremely late in reading this and commenting but I love Phantom of the Opera. I saw it at the Fox in ATL years ago and fell in love!
