Wonderful Weekends and PFTW

I needed a nice relaxing, non-racing weekend. This weekend was one of them.  I’ll sum up most of it in pictures.  It started with an 8 mile run around my neighborhood, the Virginia Highlands, and Piedmont Park followed by my drills from Coach (I skipped the 5k that was in my neighborhood-just couldn’t bring myself to race).

Then, my first trip to the Morningside Farmers Market-literally a 1.5 miles from my house every Saturday and this was my first time going.  I will definitely be going more often!

stocked up on local veggies and meats

P and I went to the pool for a bit after that and then to the Virginia Highlands Summerfest.  I picked out a fathers day gift for my pops (I can’t wait to share later) and then we headed to a bar to watch the rest of the Braves game.

Then cocktails on the patio before a fabulous sushi dinner.

The eel is my favorite!

Sunday P had a tennis match and I decided to tag along to watch him play for a bit and head out for a walk on the trails near the courts.  Turns out I’m not very good at just walking.  It turned into a walk/run and lots of picture taking.  I thought the graffiti along the trail was really cool.

My walk/run ended being just a little over 2 miles. I loved trying out a new (paved and boardwalk-no dirt) trail, even though it was short.  There was plenty to see and keep me entertained along the way.  And P won his match.

And as you can see, I am really loving Instagram right now.  Very fun!  I’ve had it on my phone for a while now but always forget to use it instead of the camera.

  • Muddy Buddy is so much fun. J and I did it a couple of times and I will definitely be doing it next year.

I seem to remember that you play tennis as well. Do you and P ever play together? J is pretty good (USTA 4.5) and playing with him is a little frustrating.

    • I used to play before running took over-it was too hard to train for a marathon and play regularly. He actually said we should go hit balls sometime but he would KILL me. I haven’t played in over a year. I would be mortified by my horribleness. 🙂

  • I have had instagram on my phone forever, but I am the same way, I tend to just default to my phone camera and forget about it. But when I remember, I love it too!

GOOD LUCK at Muddy Buddy! Have you done one before?!

  • Love the pics from the running trail.
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww…eating eel and sushi? Muddy Buddy (poor P)…from my child who wouldn’t eat her green beans and longed to be Miss America.
    You go girl!! 🙂
