Yes. Ms. Austin. Me and my sorority sisters would have pilates night and do this DVD together. COMICAL. Needless to say, I haven’t been to a pilates class since then. Plenty of yoga. LOVE yoga. For some reason pilates just went to the back burner.

My friend (from TNT and twitter) Laura, is currently getting her pilates certification. Lucky, lucky, lucky for me. Class is currently free. And did I mention it is one on one? Sweet!! Oh, and even bigger bonus? The studio is less than a mile from my house.

My first class was actually last Wednesday. We did lots of basics and she taught me the proper form. Who knew such small movements could hurt so much? Laura said that my core was already pretty strong and that taking Pure Barre (way back before I bought my condo) taught me how to use the “right” part of my abs.
We also did several different stretches that are great for runners.
